AUSTIN, Texas (Apr. 7, 2011) – Uplogix, the leading provider of localized network management, announced today the appointment of Jim Cahill as Executive Vice-President of Sales & Marketing. Cahill comes to Uplogix from BreakingPoint Systems where he served as the president and co-founder establishing the funding, infrastructure, and teams that took the company from initial formation to market leader in four years.
At Uplogix, Cahill will manage market expansion for the Uplogix management platform, a patented approach to network infrastructure management that deploys locally to provide intensive monitoring, automated recovery and secure access to traditional IP and other communications devices.

Before BreakingPoint, Cahill held various roles at TippingPoint Technologies including vice president and general manager for the federal business unit, chief financial officer, and general counsel. At TippingPoint, an industry leader in intrusion prevention systems, Cahill provided vision and leadership during startup and growth of the company through its purchase by 3Com.

Earlier in his career, before working inside high tech companies, Cahill worked with them as a corporate securities and technology attorney for a leading Dallas-based law firm. Mr. Cahill holds a Juris Doctorate and BBA in Finance from the University of Mississippi.
